PADI Open Water Diver Course - Price: $490 per person

Become a certified diver in one of the most stunning marine parks on the planet. With Underwater Coiba, you can earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification, the world’s most recognized entry-level scuba course—allowing you to dive independently up to 18 meters (60 feet) anywhere in the world.

This 3-day course combines expert instruction, hands-on practice, and unforgettable dives in the crystal-clear waters of Coiba National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with marine life.

Course Overview

Day 1 – Knowledge Development
Learn the foundational concepts of scuba diving: safety procedures, dive planning, buoyancy control, and underwater communication.

Day 2 – Confined Water Dives
In calm, shallow water, you'll build confidence as you practice essential dive skills under the guidance of our certified instructors. These pool-like conditions provide the perfect environment for mastering basic techniques.

Day 3 – Open Water Dives
Head into the open ocean for four training dives in real dive conditions. Here, you'll apply everything you've learned—diving to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet) across several sites within Coiba's vibrant reef system.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course - Price: $480 per person

Take your scuba skills to the next level with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course at Underwater Coiba. Designed for certified Open Water divers, this 2-day course gives you the opportunity to fine-tune your diving techniques, boost your confidence underwater, and experience new types of diving—all while exploring the spectacular marine biodiversity of Coiba National Park.

Whether you're looking to dive deeper, perfect your buoyancy, or identify marine life like a pro, this course gives you the tools and experience to do it.

Course Structure

Total Duration: 2 days (approx. 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM each day)
Maximum depth: Up to 30 meters / 100 feet
Dives included: 5 open water adventure dives

Required Dives:

Deep Dive: Explore the ocean down to 30m and learn about pressure, nitrogen absorption, and safety.

Underwater Navigation: Develop confidence using a compass and natural cues to navigate effectively.

Choose 3 Adventure Dives:

Underwater Naturalist – Learn about marine ecosystems and species interaction

Drift Diving – Master diving with ocean currents

Fish Identification – Practice naming the creatures you see

Peak Performance Buoyancy – Improve your trim, breathing, and control

Underwater Navigation (again, for extra mastery or credit toward Specialty)

Note: Each adventure dive also counts as credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty course.
