Curious about scuba diving but haven’t taken a course yet? With Underwater Coiba, you don’t need a certification to experience the magic beneath the surface. Our friendly, professional instructors will guide you every step of the way as you take your very first breaths underwater in the breathtaking marine environment of Coiba National Park.
This protected UNESCO World Heritage Site is a haven for wildlife lovers, offering vibrant coral reefs, colorful tropical fish, and even the chance to spot turtles, rays, or reef sharks—all in warm, crystal-clear Pacific waters.
Your day at a glance:
Trip length: Around 7 hours (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
Getting ready: We’ll fit you with all the gear you need—mask, fins, wetsuit, and more—before heading out by boat.
Travel time: Dive sites are about an hour away by boat from Santa Catalina.
First session: Learn basic scuba skills in shallow water from a beach, under the close supervision of your instructor.
Second session: Enjoy your first real dive—exploring Coiba’s reef at a depth of up to 12 meters (40 feet), for about 40–45 minutes (depending on air consumption).
Between dives: Recharge with lunch, fresh fruit, snacks, and water on a remote tropical beach.
Also includes: Use of snorkel gear if you’d like to explore from the surface as well.
